TOKYO (Tom Bluewater) – I know I have been absent for nearly eight months. Finally, I’m ready to release a new software title. Before talking about this new release, let me tell you a little bit about my shared server.

My shared server sucks. It goes offline quite often. It was down just some 16 hours ago. It was down three weeks ago. It was down one week before that. And the list is long. Every time my shared server becomes inaccessible, I have to contact my web hosting company to check the status and have it rebooted. So it’s crucial for me to monitor the current status of the server. But what can I do about it? I’m not going to use a web browser to access my website every 10 minutes. I’m not a 24-hour robot. So I won’t know the status of my remote server while I’m sleeping. Well, you know my solution.
