This QuickTime video shows an entire game play from the fifth single-player campaign titled Operation: Glass Hammer. This is an interesting mission because you will have to attack and destroy enemy tanks, jets and bombers over the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It’s also a tough single-player campaign because the entire mission will last much longer than you expect.

Again, there are several airplanes available in this mission. The one that I chose is Su-27 Flanker, which is equipped with 120 Joint Strike missiles and 32 Multi Target AA missiles. You will quickly run out of Multi Target AA missiles because you will be surrounded by airplanes constantly. If you don’t act quickly, you will also be attacked from tanks on the ground and war vessels at sea.   Continue reading

This QuickTime video shows an entire game play from the fourth single-player campaign titled Operation: Blacklight. In support of the NATO anti-terrorist operation, you will fly the jet over the mountains in Afghanistan. The main objective is to escort a bomber to a suspected Afghan terrorist training camp. The bomber will be constantly under attack in the sky.

There are several airplanes available in this mission. The one that I’ve chosen is Mig-29 Fulcrum, which is equipped with 160 Joint Strike missiles and 52 Multi Target AA missiles.

This single-player campaign is definitely the toughest challenge so far, tougher than the next one. It took me a few hours to clear it. Nonetheless, this game play video lasts for 12 and a half minutes only. In fact, it looks like a simple campaign if you watch it. I accidentally deleted all game video files for Campaign IV after completing V. So I had to play this campaign all over again. The toughest part of this campaign is to strike three SAMs with missiles. If you don’t do it quickly enough, the bomber will be eventually shot down before reaching the training camp. But doing so is not easy at all because of Afghanistan’s rugged terrain. You really need a good plan to destroy three SAMs swift and easy.   Continue reading

iMac Core 2 Duo – Sudden Restarts and Shutdowns: Faulty Cable to Blame?

Mac OS X Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz 24 inch icon

There’s one topic we’ve been recently keeping track of under Using your Intel-based iMac at Apple Discussions. As of today, this 2-day-old post has been read more than 1,350 times. (See Screenshot 01.) One Mac user initiated a topic by saying that his or her refurbished iMac starts up with no problem but that it frequently restarts and shutdown itself. So far, this post has returned 32 replies. A dozen people or less share the same restart/shutdown problem. And a couple of Apple Authorized Service Providers (AASPs) or equivalent have jumped in.

The original topic goes

I recently bought a refurbished iMac from Best Buy. When I inspected the unit after I unpackaged it, nothing appeared wrong externally. Also, the setup and installation of the OS went smoothly. However, after turning it on and browsing the web on Safari, the iMac suddenly shuts down. I thought that the power cord might’ve had a short in it at first, but have since moved away from that conclusion. Now, whenever I turn on the computer it will boot up fine and then suddenly shutdown or restart.
And as I write this, there is a new symptom: as soon as the iMac loads the desktop, the fans start up really loudly and then the computer shuts down.

(See Screenshot 02.) One AASP technician says replacing the power cable will not fix the problem, which probably doesn’t surprise anyone. How about removing the cable that connects the logic board to the CD/DVD drive? One says disconnecting this cable fixed the restart/shutdown on his iMac.   Continue reading

In this campaign, there are two airplanes available to the player: A-7B Corsair II and F-4G Advanced Wild Weasel. F-4G is equipped with 120 Joint Strike missiles and 60 Free-fall bombs. The objective of this mission is to bomb and destroy enemy’s bases on the ground.   Continue reading

This QuickTime video shows an entire game play from the second single-player campaign titled Operation: Adder. In this campaign, you will get to choose an airplane of your choice.
