LimeWire is an open-source, free P2P (peer-to-peer) client program which uses the Gnutella network. It’s been one of the most downloaded program at download.com for the Mac platform. It is developed by Lime Wire LLC. Lime Wire LLC also distributes an enhanced version of its P2P program, LimeWire Pro.

The current freeware version of LimeWire is 4.12.6 as of September 29, 2006. It is a Universal Binary version. There is also a Windows version.

This VTC shows how to set up the freeware version of LimeWire for Macs. At the beginning of this video tutorial, we also point out some of its main features and differences from BitTorrent.
