If you exchange e-mail messages with friends, family and business associates daily, there is nothing more annoying than spam messages. Nowadays, cybercriminals embed GIF graphics in e-mail messages so that the messages will not be trashed with e-mail filtering easily. If you use those online web mail services such Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail and Gmail, there isn’t much hope, or it’s up to them to install good e-mail filtering functions.

On the other hand, if you own a domain and have access to the e-mail filtering function provided by a hosting company, you could get rid of these GIF spam messages. As you know, the e-mail filtering function works in such a way that you need to identify common words that are found in spam messages.

Anyway, you don’t want to filter incoming messages with the word GIF per se because many other HTML messages also use GIF graphics. Note that those yellow criminals embed GIF graphics and send out HTML messages, there must be some unique words or symbols characteristic of their messages. If you can’t find any, then open the source code. For example, this particular e-mail message shown below often uses the code that is highlighted.
