MacHouse Mac Software Titles and Mountain Lion Compatibility

Mac MacHouse

TOKYO (MacHouse) – It’s no insider information, but it’s quite obvious that Apple, Inc. is likely to release Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion in a day or two. Speaking of our Mac software titles available at Mac App Store and here (through PayPal), many of them are compatible with Mountain Lion. More specifically, the following is a list of applications that have been tested and found compatible with OS X 10.8.

One software title that will NOT run under Mountain Lion is Discs2Go. Disc2Go consists of four components. All of them but SLA appear to run with no problem. Using Disc2Go, therefore, you cannot attach software license agreement to disc images under Mountain Lion.

Furthermore, a couple of software titles don’t appear to work smoothly because they are carbon applications. Image2Go and OrganizeX contain a lot of text fields, which don’t seem to get along with Apple’s new operating system. For now, if you just switch from one tab to another, the problem is likely to go away. It is possible that we will release software updates for these software titles in the near future since software updates to fix bugs will not require us to sandbox them, according to Apple. But who knows?

There are other software titles we haven’t fully tested yet for Mountain Lion compatibility. One of them is Switchies (Not available at Mac App Store). For now, it seems to run with no problem under Mountain Lion.
