TOKYO (MacHouse) – If you listen to the classical music, you probably know that FLAC and Monkey’s Audio are common audio formats. But iTunes and QuickTimeX don’t support either of them by default.

xLosslessAudio is our new software title. xLosslessAudio allows the user to quickly convert an entire folder containing audio files with either lossless format (.flac or .ape) into one with iTunes-friendly format such as AIF, AAC, Apple Lossless, MP3.

xLosslessAudio is a product of MacHouse.
i just purchased this on Mac App Store. it’s a shame that i have to exit this app and run it again every time i finish converting a batch of flacs in a folder.
it won’t let me convert another batch of flacs after a task. also, some flacs can’t be converted. i don’t know why but i have some flacs that when i try to convert, it just won’t start. the progress bar doesn’t move.
so i had to download a free one instead just to convert the ones left. it’s a shame i paid $9.99 for this. should’ve listened to the reviewer on the app store.
>it’s a shame that i have to exit this app and run it again every time i finish converting a batch of flacs in a folder.
That’s not what its User’s Guide says.
>it won’t let me convert another batch of flacs after a task. also, some flacs can’t be converted.
That’s probably because at least one of the files contains a character that the application can’t read. Its FAQ page explains it.

well, it won’t let me convert another folder of flacs after converting a set of flacs, even if i follow the user guidelines. so the workaround i’m doing is quitting the app, and opening it again.

so what do you suggest me to do? i will try converting this set of flacs in another flac converter and let you know what happens so then you’d know what to improve on the next update.
by the way i’m using a MacBook Air Mid 2011 computer running on Lion OS X with all the latest updates.
>so what do you suggest me to do?
User’s Guide says that you can go back to the point where you can import another folder if you just click in the red close button.

All you have to do is remove a character like inverse exclamation from file names if the application fails. Meanwhile, we submitted a new software update to Mac App Store in March 11th (our local time) that will signal you if the application identifies characters that it will have trouble reading.
remove a character => remove the character
that worked. i removed all special characters in it. thanks for a quick respond.
Hej !
– it worked once from flac to m4a, but not today.
– what is this characters what is above … ? like this or
Album : xxxxxx
Track name : XXXX [xxxx]
Track name/Position : 1
Performer : xxxxx
is that it ?
I have no clue as I don’t even know where you see those characters. I don’t even know your OS version or system language.
Hej !
– no 2 yep It was the characters, so is there coming UPG ?
– with the bother file it´s working fine ;_-)
Hej !
– no 3
– My OS is 10.7.2 and svensk
Where do yo see those characters? Do you see them when you put them in iTunes? Honestly, I have never seen them. I’m sorry to say, but if I don’t see them myself, there would be no way of my fixing whatever the problem is. So, for now, there will be no update.
Hej !
– ok, if I click the button audio info I get shell info and there is it.
– If there is ö ä Ã¥ in somewhere it does´t work
– now I tried with an real english it’s working
– Hope you understand what I mean now ?
I see. Thank you.
As application’s FAQ page explains, if the application finds one or more illegal characters in the file name, then it will stop working. These illegal characters include accent letters like ones you’ve indicated. That’s how it goes with this application. That’s not something that we can improve over for now.
Hej !
– illegal characters, no they are in our language, please try to fix it, otherwise I´m very angry like bird 😉
Speaking of illegal characters, I am talking about the characters in each audio file name that the application cannot work with. There won’t be a fix in this respect.
hej !
– a little more…. if you star using utf-8 ?
-lm-
I am afraid I don’t understand you. What about UTF-8?
Hello,
I have a Mac OS X 10.7, and when I start the trial version, it just closes itself.
Any ideas what might be wrong?
Yes. The trial period has expired. You should be able to run it if you set your system clock before July 1, 2011.

1. xLosslessAudio stays away from Mac OS X’s sandbox feature since it was released before Apple, Inc. made it mandatary last year.
2. I don’t see what this application has anything to do with Flip4Mac.
