As we reported the other day, possibly one of the most promising PC games in 2008 Fallout 3 from Bethesda Softworks debuted three days ago.
More than two years ago, Bethesda Softworks released a hit role playing game called The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. It never made it to Macs. And we don’t know it will ever although an unofficial, hacked version of the PC game with TransGaming‘s Cider Technology seems to go around among Intel Mac users.

The latest release from Bethesda Softworks is also a role playing game with an unique scenario setup. Survivors of a nuclear war are locked up behind a facility called Vault 101. That’s where the character that you are playing will spend his or her first 19 years without knowing what it’s like being outside. The leader of the facility is The Overseer, an old African-American man who prohibits anyone from going outside. But one particular member is forced to take risks and leave the facility. Why? Well, sorry… You will find out why when you play the game. Anyway, the story is a bit different. But it should remind you of that of 2005 movie The Island.
This QuickTime video shows the first 40 minutes of a game play movie of Fallout 3 with no interruption. The movie will start at the scene where the character that you are playing is born and you will get to choose the gender and then name and other character elements.
