What’s Coming Up Next? – MacHouse Introducing CSignHelper

Windows software cSignHelper

TOKYO (MacHouse) – Yesterday, we had to code-sign some 200 Windows files. We could still be code-signing files right now without a small application we’ve developed just for this purpose.

cSignHelper is a smaller desktop application that helps you when you code-sign Windows files. If you have dozens of files to code-sign, you really don’t want to manually append one text value after another to create a code-signing script. Using cSignHelper, just drag and drop a file (to code-sign) onto the top path field. Then click on the Generate button. Clicking on the Copy button, you now have a script on the clipboard. So open Command Prompt and paste it there. Finally, press Return.

What’s Coming Up Next? – MacHouse Introducing Vid2Pics

Windows software Vid2Pics

TOKYO (MacHouse) – When we switched to Windows OS for software development at the end of last October (2011), we knew what we wanted to make. The initial goal was develop something similar to an existing Mac software title called Movie2Shot, which is currently available at Mac App Store. We always wanted to develop a Windows application that 1) would allow the user to drag and drop a video file onto a drop box, 2) take as many screenshots as they want with just a click on a button. Well… The road was long, and we encountered quite a lot of difficulty.

A major problem in developing video players is the result of Microsoft‘s reluctance or inability in updating resources required to support multimedia files. DirectX SDK is something that we could use except that it’s more than two years old. And it doesn’t even support the 64-bit system.

Whew… Finally, a long journey is over. We are happy to announce a new software title called Vid2Pics. It’s a Windows desktop application that is equivalent to Movie2Shot. So Vid2Pics lets you load a video clip by dragging and dropping a file onto a drop box. Then just click on the Shot button at the right frame to take a movie screenshot. Vid2Pics also offers two approaches by which you can take multiple movie screenshots. It supports about a dozen video container formats including AVI, MKV, M4V, MOV, MPEG, WMV. Of course, your system must have right media decoders to let Vid2Pics read your video files.

What’s Coming Up Next? – MacHouse Introducing Rollerscript

Windows software Rollerscript

TOKYO (MacHouse) – I’m not really good at improvising a speech. So I could use a reading aid like a teleprompter (a visual device that prompts the person reading a script with speech text) that would run a script if I had to audio-record a speech.

Windows software Rollerscript   Windows software Rollerscript

In fact, Rollerscript is a Windows desktop application that will let you use your computer as a virtual teleprompter. You can use four different colors to create an environment where the user will will feel comfortable in reading a script. You can import an existing text file (.rtf, .txt) or just write up a reading script from scratch. The script field supports styled text (rich text format). So what you write in styled text is what you will see and read at full screen. You can underline important phrases, putting them in bold, italic, applying a color to them. Rollerscript is not a conventional teleprompter, don’t you think? Rollerscript it can be a great helper for those who record an audio commentary in making video tutorials.
